Inaugurated in September 1997, the CCA's Study Centre is an international institute devoted to advanced research on various aspects of architectural thought. The Study Centre enables scholars to pursue a wide variety of research in architecture and related disciplines. In a setting uniquely conducive to study and scholarly exchange, the CCA provides resident scholars with the outstanding resources of its collections and library, adequate stipends, and administrative and research support. The Study Centre aims at fostering scientific exchange, theoretical debate and the emergence of innovative ideas. In this regard, it offers an integrated program of seminars, lectures, and other research activities intended to create and maintain a forum of exchange for visiting researchers, and the academic and intellectual communities at the CCA and in the Montreal region.
The Canadian Centre for Architecture is an international research centre and museum founded on the conviction that architecture is a public concern. Based on its extensive collections, CCA is a leading voice in advancing knowledge, promoting public understanding, and widening thought and debate on the art of architecture, its history, theory, practice, and role in society today.
The CCA gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Department of Canadian Heritage, and the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
